FAQ
Q&A
How do I schedule an appointment?
In the contact form you can reach me by either emailing or texting me, or by filling out the form, so I can reach out to you to set up our first session! If you prefer having a free 15 minute video meeting to chat first before committing, definitely indicate this when you reach out!
Will my health insurance cover therapy?
Janet is in-network for most insurance plans (Aetna, United, Cigna, BCBS, Oscar, Oxford). She can also provide a superbill for her out-of-network clients to help with reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions.
What is the difference between talking to you versus my family or best friend?
As a licensed therapist, Janet has the training and experience to help you approach your situation in a new way by teaching new skills, gain different perspectives, listening without judgment or expectations and help you listen to yourself. Counseling is kept confidential. Also, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion for you, sometimes confiding in a friend or family member can remind you of it every time you run into them in social situations; whereas, a counselor can be there at a time and space where YOU control when you want to explore those memories and feelings with a trained professional.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Please provide 24-hour notice for cancellations and changes; otherwise, you will be charged for your full session fee. Thank you for your understanding on this.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Mostly virtual sessions are offered at this time.
